Day 1 Nairobi – Mombasa

In the morning, guests will depart for Mombasa using the Madaraka Express by the SGR. Mombasa being the second largest city in the country, is located on an island and contains within it unmatchable beauty, fantastic beaches, nice tropical climate, a people that are very gentle and naturally warm-hearted. There is plenty to see and enjoy in Mombasa as guests learn about the culture and history of the coastal region of Kenya.

Guests shall then go to Sarova White Sands, check in and have lunch. After lunch, they shall visit Bamburi Nature Trail which was turned from wasteland to a paradise. It was originally a cement quarry for Bamburi Cement Ltd. Later on, a reforestation program was introduced and upon its success, flora and fauna were introduced too, to make up what turned out to be the Bamburi Nature Trail later on renamed Haller Park. The park is now a Natural Sanctuary for wild animals, different species of birds and other tropical flora.

 Eland and buffalo, crocodiles and other reptiles can be seen wandering with crowned cranes. Other attractions in the Park include porcupines, peacocks, a snake park, fish farm, crocodile farm, giraffes, zebras, famous giant tortoises, hippos and a restaurant that specializes in game meat. Get up close and personal with giant Aldabra Tortoises, Hippos, Crocodiles, Waterbuck, Elands and Buffalo. Their highly trained guides will escort you around the park, ensuring your visit is enjoyable and educational.

Then guests shall return to resort for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 Explore Mamba Village Farm Centre & Fort Jesus

After breakfast, guests shall have a comprehensive tour of the  Mamba Village Farm Centre, which is the largest crocodile farm in the whole of Africa. The farm has thousands of crocodiles and to begin the tour, the farm offers to educate the visitors with a movie about the life cycle of a crocodile then let the guests wander around the farm to learn more about the reptiles and take photographs at their own pleasure. The farm has crocs of all ages and stages in their life and also have the white crocodiles. After the tour the guests can participate in camel riding within the same compound, horse riding or dine at the mamba restaurant which offers a wide range of crocodile meat and sea foods.

Guests shall then leave for Fort Jesus which is famous worldwide for bearing military architectural theory and  testimony to the first successful attempt by Western civilization to rule the Indian Ocean Trade routes. It was designed by Giovanni Battista Cairati, an Italian architect and engineer and its construction lasted from 1593 to 1596. it later on became a museum in 1962 for the researchers, students and tourists. Inside the Fort, you will find an intriguing collection of archaeological artifacts and learn all about the history behind them all from well guides who are well acquainted with the history.

Guests shall return to Sarova White Sands for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 Explore Shimba Hills National Reserve

Guests shall have breakfast then leave for Shimba Hills National Reserve which is only 56 km from Mombasa. The reserve has lots of game animals such as elephants, giraffes, buffalos, warthogs and the pleasant rare Sable Antelope found among herds of buffalos. Within the park guests shall visit the magnificent Shedrick’s Falls on the slope of the hills then they may have lunch at the Shimba Lodge which is built around a very large tree- being the only tree hotel on the Coast.

After lunch they can then participate in the evening game drive in the park then head to Diani Beach Resort and Spa, check- in, have dinner, enjoy the activities that the hotel has laid out for them and have an overnight stay there.

Day 4 Explore Diani

 After breakfast, guests shall then embark on a journey to the Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park which is an unspoiled, beautiful and sun kissed region established to protect the scenic islands and special habitats of a wide range of endemic marine animals and breeding migratory birds. It lies in the coral gardens south of Wasini Island and encompasses three small coral rag forest islands, each with considerable areas of fringing reef. Kisite is one of the most rewarding snorkelling locations at the coast. Visitors can also enjoy bird watching, diving and of course, sunbathing.

Guests shall then enjoy a boat ride to Wasini Island and spend the day watching for dolphins, swimming, and snorkeling. They can  also slip into the water to explore coral reefs and marine wildlife. With an afternoon on the island, they’ll have time to explore the famous Wasini Island mangrove Forest, learn about the community project on the island, or just soak up the sun at the edge of a natural lagoon before heading back to Diani Beach Resort and Spa where they shall have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5 Diani-Nairobi

Guests shall have breakfast then enjoy a quiet morning by the beach as they sunbathe, swim and engage in other relaxing activities they prefer while they prepare to return to Mombasa to catch Madaraka Express by SGR  for their return journey to Nairobi.
